Umass said he would pay a student the $ 10,000 prize for a part -time promotion in a female basketball game after a dispute with an insurance company about whether the line passed when he shot half court.

Noah Lee was selected for the contest on Wednesday that required him to make a tray, free kick, 3 points and a half court in 25 seconds. He made them all, but the school said the insurance company that manages the promotion rejected the payment.

“After their review of the four chamber angles we provided, they determined that the middle court took was disqualified, since it was not taken behind the middle field line,” the school said Friday. “We were not satisfied with that result and we came to the decision to provide Noah a $ 10,000 prize and a lot of additional Umass Athletics benefits.”

In a statement sent by email to Associated Press on Friday night, the chances of promotions said that the university continued with its decision without submitting a claim. The Reno Compensation Insurance Company, Nevada, of the Prize said that it had not completed its 30 -day claims verification process and that a decision had not been made.
