A Texas crisis communications specialist has sued Blake Lively for defamation after the actor led him to his legal fight with co -star and director Justin Baldoni for his film, “ends with us.”
Jed Wallace and his company, Street Relations, filed the demand of $ 7 million in a federal court in Texas on Tuesday. He says he had nothing to do with any campaign to damage Lively’s reputation, as she alleged in a judicial presentation.
Wallace is not among the defendants in the Federal Demand of Lively against Baldoni, its producer and publicists, in which it alleges sexual harassment and another during production and a campaign to stain it after it. The crisis specialist is appointed in the documents of the Court and in the history of the New York Times published on the day the legal battles series began in December when Lively filed a complaint.
Lively’s lawyers said in a statement that Wallace’s demand “is not just an advertising trick.”
“It is a transparent retaliation in response to the accusations contained within a complaint of sexual harassment and retaliation that Mrs. Lively presented to the California Civil Rights Department,” said the statement. “While this lawsuit will be dismissed, we are pleased that Mr. Wallace has finally left the shadows, and that he is also responsible in the Federal Court.”
In a presentation last week in Hays County, Texas, who is looking for a declaration of Wallace, Lively alleges that it was used by publicists who work with Baldoni to arm themselves “a digital army throughout the country, even in New York and Los Angeles , to create, seeds, manipulate and advance derogatory content that seemed to be authentic on social media platforms and internet chat forums. “
Wallace’s demand says that neither he nor his company “had anything to do with the alleged sexual harassment, reprisals, not investigate or help and encourage alleged harassment or alleged reprisal.”
He says that the presentation of the Texas actor “admitted that Lively has no data that supports the accusations he made against Wallace and Street”, so he now seeks to investigate the scope of his behavior.
After Lively sued Baldoni, she filed her own federal lawsuit against her and her husband, the “Deadpool” Ryan Reynolds star, accusing them of defamation and extortion and looking for at least $ 400 million in damages.
Baldoni had already sued the New York Times for defamation, and his former publicist filed a lawsuit that took the side of Lively.
“It ends with us”, an adaptation of the best -selling 2016 novel by Colleen Hoover that begins as a romance but becomes a dark domestic violence, was launched in August, exceeding box office expectations with a domestic total of almost $ 150 millions. Success was followed by almost constant agitation about its production and promotion.
