An emergency response team in the Pacific Port of Russia in Drivlsk is preparing to pump fuel of a Chinese volume that felt over the weekend, according to regional authorities.

“Until now, climatic conditions are preventing divers from inspection of the submarine part of the ship,” said the Government of Sakhalin Island in their telegram account. “The works will begin as soon as the storm decreases.”

Yang 2’s bulk bearer, sailing under the flag of China, hicked Sakhalin on January 8 while raising his anchor during a strong storm, authorities said.

The Russian authorities have been paying more attention to the risks of oil spills after a massive fuel escape in December, when two oil tankers built more than 50 years ago in the Black Sea amid strong storms. President Vladimir Putin described the incident “one of the most serious environmental challenges we have faced in recent years” and criticized the slow cleaning operation.

European authorities have also expressed concerns about the greatest risks of oil spill due to the activities of the so -called Russian shadow fleet. For a long time it has been speculated that some of the vessels that move Russian barrels do not have insurance or do not have insurance against risks, including load spills.

The Chinese ship transports 1,000 tons of coal, 50 tons of diesel fuel and 700 tons of fuel, according to the Ministry of Transportation of Sakhalin. The AUGES are installing around the ship to avoid any possible spill, said the ministry citing regional governor Valery Limarenko.
