Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp., a defense contractor of the United States government, is finishing its diversity, equity and inclusion programs, citing the executive order of President Donald Trump by pressing federal suppliers to cancel diversity practices.
Booz Allen will close its Department of Dei, will eliminate the diversity objectives of the priorities of employees and executives, and eliminate all references to “DEI” in internal and external communications and training, according to a recording of a virtual company in the city council reviewed By Bloomberg News.
Employees will no longer be allowed to use pronouns or bathrooms that differ from their sex assigned to birth if that is the rule of the government agency where the employee is assigned, according to the information of the director of people of Booz Allen, Aimee George Leary.
“While our existing persons programs comply with the law, it is clear for these executive orders and other public statements, that the definition of what is allowed is changing, so we must make changes,” Leary said in the recording. “If we do not, we might not be eligible for contracts with the federal government. Accenture PLC, the professional services firm with almost 800,000 employees worldwide, is also abandoning its diversity objectives in reaction to Trump’s orders, according to a memorandum to staff.
